I hope this message finds you well and surviving! We have tried to maintain a regular contact through ministering brothers and trying to stay updated on the health and well being of each household. Gratefully, most reports continue to be positive and well. We are grateful for the blessings that continue to flow. However, we also know that many face very real challenges and uncertainties, and we continue to pray earnestly on your behalf. Please don't face this alone. There are many resources available. I will share many in this email that have been sent to me and asked that I share with our Quorum. Thank you for your continued service and watching out for each other. It is the only way we can get through this together. I plea to you all to continue to reach out to your families on a regular basis. It is a unique time for us to truly minister to each other. Please reach out to me or Bishop Miller if you find out any needs, challenges, or things that we should be aware arise. We are all in this together and I know we will get through it and be better for it. I hope you look forward to General Conference this weekend, and will make all efforts to participate in all the sessions. Many promises have been made in relationship to this conference, and I know it will be a welcome respite from the current circumstances and will be a fountain of answers, renewed faith, and a time of deep peace. What a special time to celebrate the restoration of the gospel and His Church.
Now, in the matter of the Sacrament in our homes, we have received the following directive from President Livingston: Based on the directive given by Governor Herbert that we continue in "Stay Home, Stay Safe" mode through at least April 12th, we've been asked by the Church to not ask or assign priesthood holders to administer the sacrament in other members' homes on April 5th and 12th. They are of course welcome to still do so in their own homes.
Please let me or Bishop know if you have any further questions regarding the Sacrament.
To conclude, I am now going to post a lot of good information that I hope can help you in whatever circumstance you are in . There are so many resources available, perhaps you just need to know where to go. Hopefully, this will be helpful in some way. Thank you again for all you do, and may you be safe, healthy and most of all...HAPPY!
With Love,

New "Pandemic Planning" Guidelines from the Church

We are the Lord's agents; we represent him; he has given us authority which empowers us to do all that is necessary to save and exalt ourselves as well as his other children in the world. All of us who hold the priesthood have the authority to act for the Lord, but the effectiveness of our authority or the power that comes through that authority, depends on the pattern of our lives; it depends on our righteousness. The source of the power of the priesthood is God, who works through the Holy Ghost. To have the Holy Ghost direct us in using the priesthood, we must keep the commandments and live worthily. Power in the priesthood comes to us only from our Heavenly Father through the Holy Ghost. With the power of the priesthood, we can do the Lord's work; without the power, we cannot. (Duties and Blessings of the Priesthood, Part A pages 2-3)
"You are called to represent the Savior. Your voice to testify becomes the same as His voice, your hands to lift the same as His hands. His work is to bless His Father's spirit children with the opportunity to choose eternal life. So, your calling is to bless lives. That will be true even in the most ordinary tasks you are assigned and in moments when you might be doing something not apparently connected to your call. Just the way you smile or the way you offer to help someone can build their faith."
