Two things about the upcoming Stake Food Drive for Tabitha's Way--
Place food outside before 8:00 am, where it can be easily picked up, Saturday 17th (details below)
Need volunteers to drive & pick food, Saturday 17th--let Steve Dimond know you can help (stephen.dimond.lds@gmail.com) & meet at the church parking lot at 8:00 am
The food bank requests the following--
Soft sided boxes of food items (cold cereal, baking mixes, peanut butter, Rice-a-Roni, dry soup mixes, Hamburger Helper, sugar, flour etc.). Please make sure that nothing you give the pantry has a date older than 2019.
12 count empty egg cartons. They receive large boxes of eggs and then divide them up into smaller 12 count egg cartons for the clients, so they are always in need of these.

We have the blessing and responsibility to clean our meetinghouse through the remainder of 2021.
Brother White is coordinating this. Click this link to find a roster assigning each family to one -- or possibly two -- weeks to assist in the cleaning. Some things to note:
• Each month, there is a "lead family" in charge to help coordinate the effort.
• Please find the date you are assigned and write it on your calendar. While the lead family will remind you -- and I'll remind the ward via the weekly email as to who is assigned for the week -- please also do your part by planning accordingly and showing up.
• If you CANNOT do the date you are assigned, you are responsible for switching with another family...that is not Brother White's job OR the lead family's job. Find another family on the roster and make a switch AND THEN please alert the relevant lead families AND Brother White (at 801 995 0630) so he can update the master list
• While the cleaning will typically happen on Saturday morning, the lead family may move it to Friday night (or another time) to accommodate teams and holidays.
Marla and I have been asked to put together a short Manila Creek 8th Ward history for 2020. This can include Ward member experiences great and small. We will not include personal information that would identify individuals unless we have specific written permission from that individual to do so. Would you please let us know of anything you and/or members of your household have experienced or felt as a member of this Ward wherein you have sensed the hand of the Lord in your life during this past year. We have been asked to include experiences and feelings about how the Covid19 pandemic has impacted members of the ward.
As examples: Our grandchildren have expressed how they are closer together as a family. For Sister Allen and I, holding Sacrament Meeting in our own home has been a beautiful experience as the Spirit came into our home during these authorized home-based meetings (more abundantly in some than others.) The Lord is mindful of us in this unusual circumstance. Having the privilege to administer the sacrament has never before held as much meaning for me as it has this past year. However, we sincerely miss the associations, handshakes, hugs, and united spirit that Ward Sacrament Meetings offer. With just the two of us we soon felt the effect of the limited number of in-person Sacrament Meeting speakers.
Those of you who have a household of one, who have families with small children, who have families with older children, and who have single parent families will each have had a uniquely different experience. The range of experiences for one household may be very different from that of another ranging from very difficult to very fulfilling.
Many of us may have had singular experiences during the year that serve to witness that the Lord is in our lives. If you are willing to share, we would love to have a few we can reference in this short 2020 history.
You can send your stories, comment, or testimonies that you are willing to share to us at stevemarla@1791.com or text us at (Steve) 801-592-9561 or (Marla) 801-592-1010. We would also welcome them in printed format. We need to have them by Jan. 17th but sooner would be helpful.
Sincerely, Steven and Marla Allen
