"Everything has a new meaning with you." -Karina Halle 🍂🍁
In this unit I learned topics of hardware, foloders, digital footprints, search techniques, and the differences between the web vs. the internet. These digital characteristics will help me explore in the future through the digital world.
Self search: In this technique I will use Jane Doe. In the search there is plentiful details how to find Jane Doe's in databases. For my personal search, my address, relatives and years of residency's were displayed.
Search Query: For example, you want to find the "laser printer" by HP. Meaning HP without Brother products. To eliminate seeing printers by Brother, you would type in the search tool "HP laser printer-Brother"
When working with computers, it is essential to know where your files are and having names on them. Naming your folders helps with keeping them organized. Specifications of storing and saving data helps with organizing such as pictures, videos, or whatever you choose.
In this chapter I learned of five basic computer components:
Input Unit- Enables you to provide data at your control. The functions used are a mouse, keyboard, scanner, microphone, and game controllers.
Output Unit- Processed data. Devices includes printers, speakers, monitors, projectors and plotters.
Memory Unit - Is know as RAM (Random Access Memory) is the computers short term memory that the CPU needs while completing tasks.
Central Unit - The brain of the computer
Arithmetical and Logical Unit-Is critical to the CPU (Central Processing Unit). This unit helps with fucntions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
