Overview

I have created this page to share my journey with advancing computer techniques, managing files, creating folders, easing through Outlook, and hoping to go from practicing to mastering basic, generalized computer necessities for my future career. 

About Me 

I am a returning student at CCBC almost 25 years later. Only this time, I am determined and moreover self motivated. My strive is to become a funeral director/embalmer. CCBC is the only college in Maryland that offers this program. The fascination with death has been since I was 9 years old. My Aunt was the first funeral that I attended. Interestingly enough, her husband was a proprietor/funeral director of his business. As a teen I worked in the establishment being a receptionist, assisting with arranging flowers in the chapel, and light cleaning. A couple of years ago, I was employed at a funeral home in Baltimore and I realized how much I loved the ministry of working in the funeral industry. For my full-time job I am a CNA for hospice . I have been employed for 18 years. This job has definitely set the tone that it is time to advance into a career associating with death. I have four children; a daughter 21, and three sons 16,13, and 11. In addition to our family, we have three fur babies. Milo, Mila, and Rocky. Rocky is from Milo and Mila's first litter. So, here I am- PRAYFULLY that I accomplish my goals. 

Learning and Growing through my Technology Journey

CSIT has really exposed me to a lot of  technology that I would have had no idea existed. For example making a page on Google Sites. Here I can share my journey of each unit and what it entailed such as key details, graphics, how data is collected and stored, using files via OneDrive, linking and uploading. The tools that I have learned in this course will be vital and instrumental through the remainder of my future school years, personal life, and intended career. I have gained some confidence with technology, but some of it can be a little intimidating. From my experience,  I will say that it was cool to learn different ways of communication, expressing my creativity, and I had to face challenges head on with each unit. All in all, I am proud of myself and the improvements of tech world that I now have because of CSIT 101.
