Autonomous RC Car

Mission Statement

1. Build a car that drives autonomously along a track using machine learning.

2. Add object recognition to the car.

3. Race the car in a Palo Alto competition.

Challenges

1. Car would not drive successfully consistently.

2. Unsupported can break or effect the parameters, which is catastrophic for machine learning where all parameters have to remain consistent.

Solutions

1. Test and modify parameters, repeat many times.

2. 3D print duplicates of the same parts, and secure it interchangeably and strongly.

Skills Learned

Introductory TensorFlow, SSH Command prompts, wiring, and 3D design and printing.

Team Dynamic

While it was my first time meeting my members, we had so much fun getting along and ended up becoming long term friends. This was a very fun class that took place at the end of the day, so we would laugh at our stupid Patrick Star 3D prints and grab dinner afterwards.
