Mathematics and Statistics

Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is ONLINE for Spring 2021. You can still access services.

Unlike a live classroom, asynchronous (delayed) online environments like ours this fall provide you with time to think and reflect before you engage in the content. This model gives everyone a chance to share and contribute with the class.

Mathematics is the study of patterns. There are patterns everywhere! We mathematicians love finding, classifying, and modeling them. I hope to teach you that patterns (and therefore, math) is everywhere, and that you too can engage in this exciting field!

I believe that each one of you has the ability to learn and understand mathematics. My passion is helping you learn.

If you encounter any problems during the course – whether it be with Canvas, with my instruction, this website, with homework, with class time, with other students, or with what is going on in your life – please communicate with me. Let me know how I can correct the concern, help you stay on track with your learning, or just be an ear to listen if you need it. I am here to help you!

Office Hours ("Student Contact Hours") & Link

Online in Zoom, which is a web conferencing tool. Not only can we see and hear each other, but we can also view each other’s screens, which comes in handy when we are discussing assignments or any parts of the course. There is also a built-in chat tool feature within Zoom.

These hours are set aside during the week for me to meet with you and answer your questions! If these times don't work for you, message me and we can arrange a meeting outside these times.

Real courage is holding on to a still voice in your head that says, ‘I must keep going.’ It’s that voice that says nothing is a failure if it is not final. That voice that says to you, ‘Get out of bed. Keep going. I will not quit.’ ~Cory Booker
