Las Positas College Smart Shops

One of my favorite things about our college, SmartShops were started just a couple of years ago by a few faculty who recognized that we needed a robust workshop series that students can access with quick, important, helpful information to support their learning.

Although we are online for Fall 2020, All Smart Shops on the calendar will be offered via Zoom. The link is provided in the calendar event, so click on it to open!

There are three main strands:

• Academic

• Transfer

• Career Prep

The Mathematics Department hosts several different workshops in the Academic strand:

• Conquering Math Anxiety (I facilitate this one!)

• Preparing for Tests

• Using BRAIN RESEARCH to change how you LEARN

• Graphing Calculator Help (various levels, both Statistics and STEM)

• Excel Help

• Word Problems for Algebra (currently not facilitated this semester)

• Word Problems for Statistics (currently not facilitated this semester)
