Do you know where to go for medical assistance?
While many injuries can be treated right in the athletic training room by an athletic trainer, other injuries, conditions, illness' require further attention. See below as a general guideline to assist you in deciding where you should seek further treatment. Please note that this is not a complete list of injuries/conditions seen in these locations but rather general guidelines.
For emergency room care, seek out the closest emergency room to your location.
For all injuries/conditions that require the attention of a medical provider other than an athletic trainer, documentation of your visit and a clearance note will be needed to return to participation to sport. Emergency rooms will not provide clearance for an injury or illness and a follow up with a primary care provider or specialist such as an orthopedic doctor is necessary to obtain clearance.

For orthopedic injuries or specialty evaluations that require further attention than what an athletic trainer can provide, MGB is a great option for world class care. I will work with our team physicians to find the provider that will best serve your needs for your specific injury.
If MGB locations are not within your insurance provider coverage or within a reasonable distance to where you live, we will work together to find a provider to see you.
