A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury that occurs from a bump or violent blow to your head causing your brain to bounce or twist in your head. This twisting or bouncing movement in your head causes chemical changes that result in symptoms that affect the way you feel, think, acts, learns, and sleeps.
Research has recently resulted in an update in how concussions are treated. Science continue to learn how to best treat athletes to achieve the best outcomes as possible. If a concussion is diagnosed, you will work closely with the athletic trainer to complete the steps necessary to safely return to learning as well as a return to play.
