The legend of Billy is a puzzle game for a teenage audience running on a Smartphone
In this game you solve puzzles using robots that you can build and destroy in order to recycle the parts and to build new robots.
The main goal is to encourage recycling based on the following philosophy: "Resources are limited and we must learn to recycle them rather than consuming them without thinking"
Made with Unity.
In this project I was level designer, sound designer and narrative designer.
I also worked as gameplay, level and UI programmer.
Besides, I took care of the community aspect and the organization of the different tasks of the team.
I went further into unity doing a parameter menu, playing with Cinemachine, Terrain Editor and Scriptable objects.
I also made an inGame cinematics with one of the artist of the team. This experience taught me cinematographic and animations skills.
I mainly worked on level design and balancing it. As I love exploring worlds in video games ( I'm some kind of explorer ), I really find it exciting to create a world with different areas that tell a story and evolve the player into his quest.
I learned how to divide the job into parts and that every tree, every wall, every robotic waste and every purple corrupted tentacle are important and can tell something.
I also works on sound and narrative design. It has motivated me to learn music production and writing stories for other projects.
I set schedules, I elaborated a weekly activity tracker and game design document to make things work well. It forced me to keep documents up to date and strengthen my teamwork.
Very soon, we start to make massive playtest by creating a Itch.io page. We had a lot of people trying our game but we learned that player will not come again if the game is not that good
even if playtests are important, the early experience must be already good.
I had to manage updates on a weekly basics. Writing note patch and always make sure that the whole game remained steady.
