This roadmap outlines the planned content for Serana Dialogue Add-On’s final updates—the most complete picture of what we’re aiming for as we bring Serana’s story to a close. As always with mod development, unforeseen circumstances, technical limitations, and last-minute priority shifts can change what ships and when.
Because the list is large, it shouldn’t be read as a guarantee that every item will land in the next release—or at all. For Aela (ADA and the SDA banter), content is more likely to slot in after 4.4.
You may currently see 4.4-4.7 listed on the changelog/roadmap. That structure may still evolve as we go—we’ll take this one step at a time. The priority is to sunset SDA at a sustainable pace, focusing on stability and quality rather than rushing features.

Version 4.4 is shaping up to be a broad quest-awareness, romance, and follower-interaction update for Serana Dialogue Add-On. The main focus is giving Serana more meaningful reactions to major Daedric questlines, expanding her vampire and romance-related content, and adding more interactions with other supported followers - especially Ashe and Aniya.
As usual, this is a planned-content article, not a final changelog. Some details may shift during implementation, testing, or recording.
SDA 4.4 adds over 430 new Serana lines, with over 820 total lines of new SDA-related commentary and banter scenes when including Ashe and Aniya interactions.
Daedric Quests Commentary - Part II
This update continues SDA’s Daedric quest commentary coverage with a new batch of quest-aware Serana reactions. The goal is broad coverage of important quest beats: quest starts, major choices, emotional turning points, and final outcomes. This is not meant to be full scene-by-scene narration, but a focused pass on the moments where Serana’s perspective matters most.
Planned Daedric quest commentary includes:
Discerning the Transmundane - Hermaeus Mora
Serana reacts to Septimus, forbidden knowledge, Dwemer mystery, and the danger of making bargains with a Daedric Prince who collects secrets like currency.
The Taste of Death - Namira
A darker and more consequence-heavy commentary pass focused on predation, coercion, consent, and loss of agency. Serana has strong feelings about this quest, and the player’s choices can lead to much more intense reactions than usual.
Ill Met By Moonlight - Hircine
Serana explores the line between curse and choice, predator and victim, and what it means to be trapped in a nature shaped by Daedric influence.
The Break of Dawn - Meridia
Serana clashes ideologically with Meridia’s hatred of the undead, with commentary that changes depending on whether Serana is still a vampire or has been cured.
Waking Nightmare - Vaermina
A more intimate commentary pass centered on dreams, psychological control, memory, trauma, and the decision to walk away from darkness.
House of Horrors Aftermath
Version 4.4 also adds a new aftermath conversation for The House of Horrors, giving Serana space to process what happened in Markarth after the quest is complete. This content focuses less on “quest commentary” in the mechanical sense and more on the emotional fallout of facing Molag Bal’s influence again.
There is also new Ashe and Serana awareness tied to this aftermath for players using both followers.
Romance Feature - Consensual Feeding
Based on the community vote, SDA 4.4 is moving forward with a romance-only feeding on the player option.
This is being written in the SDA style: consent-forward, ethical, intimate, tender, and a little playful where appropriate. It is not being treated as a “vampire convenience” feature or a nagging survival loop. The framing is personal and relationship-driven.
The feature is planned to be:
Romance-gated
Repeatable
Privacy-aware
Cooldown-gated
Focused mainly on dialogue and scene flavor rather than mechanical pressure
Cure Foreshadowing and Post-Cure Reflection
SDA 4.4 also expands Serana’s cure-related emotional arc. Players who engage with the feeding content may see new follow-up material that foreshadows Serana’s thoughts about vampirism, humanity, and whether she still feels tethered to what was done to her.
There is also a softer post-cure reflection scene planned, focusing on Serana adjusting to human needs, warmth, food, vulnerability, and the strangeness of finally being free from her old condition.
Expanded Vampirism Awareness
If the Dragonborn becomes a vampire through the Dawnguard path, Serana will have more to say about it. This includes a stronger first reaction, advice on handling the thirst, new clicked hellos, combat taunts, and additional awareness of the player’s new condition.
There is also a small Ashe-aware version of this content for players using Ashe and Serana together.
Version 4.4 includes smaller radiant and follower-behavior additions to make Serana feel smoother during regular adventuring.
Planned additions include:
More neutral-toned sneak dialogue
New whispering hellos and goodbyes while sneaking
Additional trading responses
A new sandbox/roam option so Serana can take a break and interact with her surroundings instead of simply waiting in place
Location-aware sandbox responses
Follow-me responses when ending sandbox/roam behavior
These are not huge headline features, but they should help Serana feel more natural during ordinary gameplay.
New Aniya Banter
SDA 4.4 adds new banter between Serana and Aniya.
This includes introductory conversations and a staged radiant banter arc that moves from early friction into a more comfortable dynamic over time. Aniya’s fear and suspicion of Serana’s vampirism plays a major role early on, while Serana’s dry wit and guarded empathy gradually shape their interactions.
The current plan includes:
Introductory Serana/Aniya conversations
Radiant banter in dungeons, inns, homes, and overworld spaces
A gradual “friction stage” progression
Later post-acceptance radiant banter once their dynamic has developed
Version 4.4 also includes a major new pass of Ashe and Serana banter for players using both SDA and Ashe: Crystal Heart.
Planned Asherana content includes:
New suspicion banter before Ashe has been revealed as an automaton
New general radiant banter
New dungeon banter, including Nordic ruins, Dwemer ruins, and general dungeon commentary
New combat-ending banter
Rewritten/tuned existing radiant banter, including cooldown improvements where needed
New romance-awareness banter for both realistic and fantasy/poly romance contexts
New drinking-buddies and campfire-style opinions where Serana and Ashe can comment on each other
New main quest awareness banter tied to key Skyrim main quest moments
New Daedric quest banter in selected quests, including moments where Ashe’s own nature and history give her a strong perspective
New House of Horrors aftermath awareness if both Ashe and Serana are present
Serana can also now confront the player if they fully romanced/married Serana (before meeting Ashe) and then began romancing Ashe afterward, with support for both monogamous and fantasy/poly setups.
Early Access for SDA 4.4 is currently planned for sometime in June-July 2026, subject to change. Full release is expected a month after the closed beta release.

SDA — Version 4.6 (Mini Update)
This will be a smaller, focused update: bugfixes, a few extra radiant lines, and some lightweight awareness patches (primarily pulled from the “Deferred / Out of Scope” section of the SDA Planned Content page). I may also squeeze in one or two small gameplay tweaks if they’re low-risk—but the scope will stay tight.
The goal is to keep SDA moving forward at a sustainable pace while I shift my main production focus toward Aela Dialogue Add-On v0.1 (public prototype), which is planned to launch with Serana banter and Ashe + Serana trio banter.
Current ETA: production begins sometime in 2026-2027.

I. Quest Commentary and Awareness
Vigilant Quest Commentary (External Patch):
Hundreds of lines of dialogue for full commentary on the Vigilant mod. Currently different ending awareness is planned, but with no support for a potential branching choice in the Haunted Mansion. It is not a canon or alternate choice according to the author and it would be a pain to implement as it involves your player taking a dirt nap and the game otherwise does not have support for that (other than reloading your game).
Highly recommended due to its relevance to Serana's character.
III. More Ashe and Serana (Asherana) + Aela Banter

Hearthfire Commentary
In SDA’s final update, Serana will interact with a pair of custom-voiced orphan characters who arrive at Fort Dawnguard after losing their parents to a vampire attack. They’re fully realized NPCs with unique backstories, custom appearances, and emotional depth. Expect heartfelt, character-driven scenes that explore Serana’s evolving views on family, legacy, and the consequences of vampirism.
Current ETA - Production to begin sometime in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027.
Deferred / Out of Scope for the Sunset Updates
To keep SDA’s final updates realistic (and shippable) alongside ongoing Ashe work, some previously listed items have been deferred, moved to optional patch packs, or placed in the “bonus if time permits” bucket. This section is here to set expectations - it isn’t a request list.
