(The following is a FAQ summary for Ashe. For more detailed and quest-related troubleshooting, please refer to the walkthrough page.)
Q: Where do I find Ashe?
A: See Quick Playthrough Hints (Walkthrough page).
Q: How do I start Ashe’s questline?
A: Recruit her, talk to her, and the story unfolds naturally. Some early dialogue options can require a short wait (usually 24 in-game hours) during rapport-building.
Q: Is Ashe still being worked on?
A: Yes. Major work cycles around SDA, but Ashe receives patches and content updates. After SDA 5.0, Ashe becomes the main focus again.
Q: I’m on an older Skyrim SE/AE version — will Ashe work?
A: Yes, you just need the BEES mod.
Q: “Your mod crashed my game!”
A: Uncommon. If you think Ashe is involved, I need a crash log and repro steps confirmed on a stable setup. (See Bug Report Checklist below.)
Q: I modified Ashe and now she’s broken.
A: I can’t support modified versions (too unpredictable). Please reproduce on an unmodified install.
Q: Can you ESL/ESPFE this mod?
A: No. It’s too large now and in planned scope, and ESL-ifying risks breaking saves.
Q: I don’t like Ashe’s outfit. How do I change it?
A: Use her outfit system (unlocks a bit into rapport). You can make her wear anything.
Q: Do I need to rebuild BodySlide after updating?
A: Only if your BodySlide output is inside Ashe’s mod folder. If you keep BodySlide builds in a separate MO2 “Bodyslides” mod (recommended), you usually don’t need to rebuild unless you changed sliders/preset.
Q: “Inverted nipples” / weird body shape issues.
A: That’s usually your Bodyslide preset, not Ashe. (Example: set the “Gone” nipple sliders to 0 in Outfit Studio.)
Q: How do I make my game look like your screenshots?
A: I use Silent Horizons II ENB + Obsidian Weathers + Lux, and Ashe is shown with the Diamond body preset.
Q: Ashe is bald / hair is invisible / stretching into the ground.
A: Ashe’s hair is a wig item (“Seabiscuit”). If it’s unequipped or overridden, she’ll appear bald or bugged.
Fast fixes:
Reinstall and pick the correct hair option in the FOMOD (HDT vs non-HDT).
If using HDT hair: ensure FSMP + XP32 + RaceMenu are set up correctly for your Skyrim build.
Some mods can override wigs/hair:
RSV (Racial Skin Variance) → add an ignore keyword distribution.
Dynamic NPC Hairstyles → blacklist Ashe.
If you use these mods, please download and install the Ash RSV Patch from the main mod page!
Manual wig re-equip (advanced):
Console: help seabiscuit
Click Ashe → equipitem <itemID> 1
Q: Ashe doesn’t fight / just stares in combat.
A: Common cause: Immersive Equipment Animations blocking follower combat. Disable its follower/companion option.
If not, it may be a rare sandbox/animation state issue—report it with repro steps.
Q: Why don’t Ashe’s custom animations play?
A: Either missing requirements or another animation has higher priority. Use a priority tool if you’re managing many OAR sets.

Q: Sparring makes guards/followers join or gives me a bounty.
A: Vanilla brawl bug. Recommended:
Install Brawl Bug Fix
Spar away from crowds
Spar with only Ashe (dismiss others)
If someone stays hostile: StopCombatAlarmOnActor <Ref>
Q: Ashe dream sequences don’t trigger (I use Go To Bed).
A: Go To Bed can “wait” instead of “sleep” if you don’t use the modifier key. Check its MCM and use the correct sleep modifier.
Q: Sleeping crashes/freezes when Dark Brotherhood kidnapping is pending + Ashe dream tries to start.
A: Two sleep-triggered events collide. Resolve them separately:
Finish Astrid’s kidnapping first or finish Ashe’s dream intro first.
Avoid sleeping until one is cleared.
Q: A cutscene loops / stalls / characters stare forever.
A: Try:
Safety save → reload
Leave the cell → wait 1 hour → re-enter
Temporarily disable “dialogue helper” mods for the scene
If it’s reproducible, report it. If not, use the console failsafes on the Walkthrough page.
Q: Ashe keeps bumping into me.
A: Use “Disable Follower Collision.”

Q: Ashe gets stuck in Broken Oar Grotto.
A: Vanilla follower pathing issue. Use a Broken Oar fix mod.
Q: How do I start the romance?
A: Two routes: (1) flirt during the main quest, or (2) a story-accurate shortcut for players who don’t want to wait. Both converge later.
Q: Does Ashe have custom names and conversation content?
A: Yes! Look on the "Custom Names" tab to see currently supported names. Subscribe on my Patreon to request names!
Q: Can I “cure” her “vampirism”?
A: Spoiler territory. No promises—depends on story fit.
Q: Can our custom followers interact?
A: Yes—PM me and we can talk collaboration.
Q: Can I make a patch or translation?
A: Usually yes—contact me first so I can track it and support it properly.
Q: Can I make an AI-voiced patch?
A: Not for new characters from Ashe (actors don’t consent). For vanilla NPC revoices, I do not endorse or support AI re-voices. Permissions for any AI-voiced add-ons are granted only on a case-by-case basis and only with explicit consent from the original voice actor. Under no circumstances may you AI-process, revoice, filter, train on, or upload any of my mod’s recorded performances to an AI/voice service.
Q: A quest seems stuck / dialogue won’t progress — what should I do before reporting?
A: Please do this before using console commands:
Safety save → reload once
Leave the cell → wait 1 in-game hour → re-enter
Reproduce on a clean test if possible
Report with: repro steps, load order, and SQV/SQS for the quest
Full debugging + console failsafes are on the Walkthrough page.
Q: Why is Ashe's age set at six years? A: In the original version of the mod, Ashe’s story started six years ago because I wanted to balance the darker aspects of her backstory with her current character development. She was born as a fully-formed adult, with adult emotions and a mature worldview. Setting her creation at six years prior allowed her story to feel grounded while avoiding overly grim implications—like suffering for 26 years straight, which would have made her a far less enjoyable character to interact with. Additionally, this timeline ensured key characters, like Canas, were still around to support her journey.
However, based on player feedback and further reflection, I’ve decided to revise Ashe’s backstory in the 1.1 update. Instead of starting six years ago, Ashe now has a "hibernation" period of 20 years after her father’s death. This change adds more depth to her character and eliminates any confusion about her “age.” Ashe awakens 26 years after her creation, with six years of active experience before meeting the player.
Although this adjustment introduces some compromise—such as Canas now being 20 years older—the change aligns better with her story’s themes and avoids potential discomfort for players. This rewrite preserves Ashe’s core narrative while offering a more nuanced and satisfying explanation of her past.
