Uniforms
Cub Scout uniforms serve a dual purpose, demonstrating that a Scout is part of a team and showing individual achievement (Scouts wear the patches, loops, and pins they’ve earned).
New Uniforms
New uniform items and handbooks can be purchased at BSA Outfitters at 13347 Manchester Road, Des Peres or shop online.
Used Uniforms
Pack 359 offers experienced uniforms to ALL Scouts. These uniforms gently used and are approximately 1/3 of the cost of a new uniform from the Scout Shop. We also exchange uniforms within the pack so as Scouts outgrow their shirts, they can trade the shirts for a larger size or a new rank. Most Scouts only pay for the initial uniform and exchange uniforms as they grow throughout the remainder of the Scouting career.
Families will be notified within the first few meetings about when they can purchase an experienced uniform.
What to Buy
The uniform guide below explains the basics of the Cub Scout uniform for each rank. In addition, we have pack T-shirts for events that may get messy.
Pack 359 requires only a uniform shirt, rank neckerchief, and slide.
Uniform by Rank
Lion Scouts (Kindergarten) wear the Lion T-Shirt, Pack T-Shirt, or blue uniform shirt to Pack and den meetings. Neckerchief, slide, and hat are optional.
Tiger-Bear Scouts (1st-3rd grade) wear the blue uniform shirt, rank neckerchief and slide. Greater St. Louis Area Council patch, Red Numerals 359, purple World Crest patch. World Crest Ring optional.
Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts (4th-5th grade) wear the tan uniform shirt, rank neckerchief and slide. Greater St. Louis Area Council patch, red numerals 359, purple World Crest patch. World Crest Ring optional. Arrow of Light Scouts may wear the Scouts BSA hat and neckerchiefs selected by their den.
Rank hats and official BSA uniform pants, shorts, and skirts are optional. School uniform pants, shorts, or skirts in navy blue for 1st-3rd grades and olive green for 4th-5th grades are a great option for the Scout uniform.
Belts are encouraged to display earned adventures for Lions-Bears, but are not required.
Handbooks
Arrow of Light Scouts will need a handbook as it prepares them for Scouts BSA Troops (age 11-17). Handbooks are recommended for other ranks, but they are optional.
