Of all the improvements I made on our boat, this was by far the best. If your Marinette has one of those tiny waste tanks (located directly below the head), then this modification may be of interest to you. I installed an additional waste tank in the V-berth area, fed by the macerator pump. (The tank has to be pumped out by the marina.) The tank, shown below, is an 18 gallon unit sold by West Marine. The opening below the V-berth is too small for the tank and mounting to go through together, so the mounting had to be installed first, followed by the tank. Here's what the tank and mounting looks like:
As you can see, space in the V-berth area is tight. The fittings were so close together that I couldn't connect the hoses, so I had to raise the tank and shift it to port as far as it would go. I then relocated the macerator pump on a ‘V-shaped’ wooden block, to get it level, and turned its outlet connection 180 degrees. After this the lines were finally able to be connected.
