Here’s a safer way to get in and out of your bilge. The stairs hinge aftwards for battery access, and they can be removed completely by taking out a few screws, as I do during oil changing. Beats the heck out of stomping on your valve covers, crushing a dipstick, or landing on your 'stern'! When folded down, the stairs become a convenient place to sit while working.
