The "Admiral" made me add these after hearing that a hatch slammed down on some poor guy's noggin and left a huge gash. These 1/2 inch OD screen door springs will hold the hatch open until you bend them in the middle.

Better Engine Access on Twins

Now here’s a dandy idea that I didn’t think of in time (while redoing my saloon floor). Note the removable hatches outboard of the usual ones? A great way to get more access to twin engines without killing oneself—especially when changing the outer spark plugs. Pretty sharp!
