Maria Suñol Rodrigo

Post-doctoral researcher

Maria received her doctoral training at the Psychiatry and Mental Health department of the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute in Barcelona, where she investigated the neural bases of obsessions and compulsions in healthy children, using neuroimaging and genetic tools. Her current research interests revolve around the study of the intersection between social and affective cognition using multi-variate neuroimaging analysis techniques. Maria is also passionate about the relationships that humans establish with other animals. As a result, she collaborates with the research group Anthropology Of Animal Life, where she studies the moral paradox of people both loving and eating animals.

Saül Pascual Díaz

Post-doctoral researcher

Saül has extensive expertise in neuroimaging data analysis. During his PhD studies at the University of Barcelona (UB), he developed a novel method to minimize surgical damage using diffusion MRI data and taught neuroimaging. He also taught neuroscience and neuroimage in the UB. Saül has worked with standard neuroimaging tools, including FSL, SPM, ANTs, and MRtrix, while collaborating with international consortia such as MELD and ENIGMA at IDIBAPS. He is currently a member of the SPRINT project, dedicated to identifying a neuroimaging signature for chronic pain in adolescents. Alongside his research, Saül is enthusiastic about science outreach and coordinates BCNspiracy and Sopa de Partículas, in addition to serving as the social media coordinator for the national Pint of Science team. Outside of academia, he enjoys dancing urban styles in his free time.
