"Wabi-sabi"
The complexity of white matter can be assessed based on its ability to restrict the diffusion of water in the brain. The composite image depicts two MRI scans captured seven years apart, illustrating the posterior section of the author's brain. The colors in the image represent a visualization of the level of organization in the white matter of the visual region at two distinct points in time.

"Mamihlapinatapai"
The composite image displays two MRI scans of the author's brain, taken seven years apart, which reveal the structure of the white matter and its impact on restricting the diffusion of water within the brain. The image also features a series of dots, representing the primary direction of diffusion in the cerebral cortex. These visualizations were made possible by the MRI machine.

"Qualia"
Qualia is a composition created from a magnetic resonance imaging scan of the brain, providing insights into the diffusion of water within it. The color-coded visual representation highlights the primary direction of diffusion, with blue denoting the vertical axis, green indicating front/back, and red representing left/right. The use of different planes in the composition allows for a comprehensive view of the primary structures of the encephalopathy, with the color coding aiding in the visualization of their structure.

"Honeysuckle"
The Honeysuckle composition is created by reconstructing the primary connections of the brain's white matter. The internal structure of the honeysuckle plant influences the way these connections are constrained, resulting in a natural pattern that is reminiscent of other forms found in nature.

"Celestial Colonnade"
The Celestial Colonnade composition is a fusion of two images: a photograph of the interior columns of the Sagrada Familia and a reconstruction of the connections within the brain's white matter. These connections act as pillars, uniting the various regions of the cortex. The merging of these images was achieved through the use of deep learning.

"Lenticular Nebulosa"
The image shows an axial slice of a tractographic reconstruction, featuring visible points that indicate the termination of certain tracts within that plane. The out-of-focus points represent tracts that end their course in the following plane. This brain image was acquired from an FCRB researcher.
