SCHOOL LIBRARY LOGO

     For the past years, the Mariano Ponce Elementary School Library needed to have a logo to establish its identity conveying the organizations' mission and vision, thus different approaches in determining the creation of the library logo has been implemented. Discussions were on the table presenting situations, they are as follows:

• The teacher-librarian searches for existing library logo from the other schools and do an internet search 

• The teacher-librarian converse for his immediate Master Teachers seeking professional advices on what could be done on the creation of school library logo through communication such as Facebook messenger chats etc.,

• Several suggestions were given and adhered upon in relation to the creation of the library logo.

Designing various library logos and its concepts is such a tedious task to accommodate, a right skill, motivation and technical know-how are at par when creating one. As for the school library to have its authenticity from the others, the goals were keep into consideration manifesting collaborative efforts, ideas, and inclination and these goals are:

• It should be  distinct and exclusive

• It will reflect the mission and vision that library provides

• Promote an ambiance of acumen and authenticity

On the technical aspect, the teacher-librarian gives an emphasis on the use of color, GREEN symbolizes freshness and all-natural character of the elements, symbols/illustrations that will be incorporated on the logo and adherence on its simplicity yet captures the attention.

The meaning of school library emblem:

(Note: The idea of logo design has been likened to our school logo, only some of the elements were added and change.)

a. Panitik at Adhikain - the  tagline was adopted from our school's Panitik at Kalayaan, and modified to ensure its mission in promoting reading culture in support for literacy and numeracy.

b. 3 Stars - it was adopted from our national flag, the island group of the country, wherein the inclusivity of the learners to learn wasn't confide only in the boundaries of a place but welcoming other learners from other regions, cities, or municipalities.

c. 3 Children and a star - it represents  a diversity of learners championing for their dreams as a the star signifies  hopes and aspiration in becoming future leaders and law-abiding citizenry nurtured on the values, character and ethical behavior on our society.

d. Hand holding a book - the book represents wisdom, truth and intellect while the hand symbolizes the love for reading and learning. The digitized book icon also embodies the modern technology that our learners must embrace on the current education system.

e. Fountain pen's nib and flame - symbolizes creativity and professionalism. It characterizes the teaching force of the school wherein dedication and diligence executed on the welfare of the learners.  The flame represents as the guiding light towards learners to achieve their ambition in life or path leading to their careers. 

f. Laurel leaves - symbolizes the triumph of every learner for their learning experiences and development.

g. 1964 - the year our school was established.
