We are a team that is driven by Discovery and Innovation and aim for meaningful Impact. Inclusion is key—we value Teamwork and diverse perspectives. And above all, we make sure to have Fun along the way!"
We achieve our goals through Cooperation, guided by the principles of Gracious Professionalism. At MARC Kids take the reins, fostering a space where their ideas flourish, and their potential shines.
We have tried to embrace the core values during the FLL masterpiece season. Specific examples are listed below.
Discovery
We have learnt how to use the distance, color and gyro sensors.
We learnt about the physics behind good beyblade design.
Innovation
Iterative robot, arm design and missions coding - learning from mistakes and improving performance.
Building custom launchers and legoblades.
Impact
We created a functional, practical solution (Legoblades) to get more kids involved in Legos and Beyblades. This is a fun way to learn science.
The automated launchers will help the old and disabled enjoy Legoblades.
Inclusion
Every team member helped in coding the missions.
Every team member had a chance to create their own LegoBlade design, experiment with making different launchers and our final prototypes include everyones design & suggestions.
Teamwork
We shared our responsibilities and worked together. Each team member worked with their strengths and helped the rest learn new skills.
Our research project was the direct result of sharing ideas with each other.
Fun
Battling each other using beyblades and legoblades was fun!
We did a lot of team activities like playing videogames, watching movies, chick-fil-a, etc.
Cooperation
We are a member of a blog site setup by italian team EV13. On here we collaborate with team EV13 (Italy), StarshipFR (France), Enablers (Nigeria) to help with questions and offer suggestions to their respective research projects.
We take surveys of other FLL teams (posted on FB group) to offer feedback and suggestions on their research projects. We also took part in the LEGO #buildtogive challenge.
Gracious Professionalism
We work as a team and use each team members strengths while respectfully disagreeing on our differences.
Even when we have had arguments, we made sure that we leave each team meeting by embracing each other.
Kids do the work.
Our coaches and mentors guide us on the tasks but we do the work.
Our innovation project spark and research were our own idea and the coaches and mentors helped meet the experts.
