Team MARC does it again! 🏆
We’re thrilled to share that Metro Atlanta Robotics Club brought home the Championship Award at the Wheeler Circuit Runner Super Regionals on 01/18/25! 🎉
Our Water Warden buoy was once again a major hit in the pit area—parents, teams, and judges couldn’t stop talking about it! The judges were impressed with our team’s effort and encouraged us to keep improving our innovation project and robot design. They praised our Core Values and were especially impressed with our detailed documentation.
Some teams were amazed by our presentation slides, and we were happy to share them! Our giveaway badges were another big success—everyone loved them, and connecting with other teams was so much fun.
Now, about the robot… Our redesigned MARC III 24.2 showed improvement, scoring 275 points, which placed us 3rd out of 20+ teams! 🚀 While we’re proud of our progress, we know we can push even further. We’ve identified s and are gearing up for the next big challenge.
Stay tuned as we prepare for the next round—we’re just getting started! 💪🔧
Let’s go, MARC! 🚀
Happy New Year, Everyone! 🎉
We’re getting ready for the Super Regionals at Sedalia Park Elementary on Saturday, 01/8/25, and we’re super excited! Over winter break, we made some big changes to our robot and arm designs. The updates were so major that we wrote everything down in the Robot Design section under MARC III 24.2. Our robot runs are way more consistent now, and we’re scoring over 300 points during tests! 🚀
For our Innovation Project, we got to talk to two excellent experts:
They gave us some fantastic feedback, and we’re working on improving our Water Warden Buoy based on their ideas. Here’s what we’re working on:
Moving the camera underwater to get better pictures and data.
Adding weight to the bottom of the buoy to make it more stable.
Adding an SD card to store all the data.
Designing a chlorophyll detector to measure plant life in the water.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed and working hard for the Super Regionals. Wish us luck! 🤞
Go Team MARC! 💪🤖🌊
Team MARC rocked the regional competition at Sedalia Park Elementary and brought home the Championship Award! 🏆 We worked hard and showed off our skills in Robot Design, Robot Game, Innovation, Core Values, and it paid off big time!
Our Water Warden buoy was a major hit in the pit area. Parents, teams, and judges couldn’t stop talking about it! We did hit a snag when our GPS and IMU sensors stopped working. But don’t worry—Ryan came to the rescue and discovered a broken soldering connection. We’ll have it fixed and ready to go before the super regionals. 💪 The giveaway badges we made were a huge success! All the teams loved them, and sharing them with everyone was so fun.
Now, about the robot... it didn’t do as great as we hoped. 😅 We scored a high of 235 points, which put us in 4th place out of 20+ teams. Not bad, but we know we can do better! We’ve already identified many ways to improve and are ready to step up our game for the super regionals.
Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for the next round! Let’s go, MARC! 🚀
Our team is excited to announce that we will be competing tomorrow at the GA FLL Regional Competition at Sedalia Park Elementary School in Marietta, GA! We kicked off our season back in August 2024, and after months of hard work, collaboration, and preparation, we’re ready to give it our best shot. We’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished this season, from designing MARC III 24.1 to creating the Water Warden for our innovation project.
We’d love for you to come visit us at our pit area tomorrow to see our work and cheer us on. Thank you for supporting us on this journey—we can’t wait to represent our team and show what we’ve got!
