  PROSPECTUS

Qualify as a child counsellor using Play Therapy / Art Therapy.

    Goal: To prepare candidates to become competent, effective counsellors & teachers.

                          This course at Manthan trains you to become a competent child counsellor. Your training aims at preparing you to help children in distress. You will be able to provide children support through your knowledge and expertise. You will learn to recognize, identify, pinpoint, assess, diagnose, and treat wide range of mental health conditions, adjustment issues and psychological problems. More specifically, child counsellors, or child therapists and child psychologists have been trained to “get into the minds of children,” so they can help them make sense of what is going on in their minds, bodies, and lives.

The ECC- Early Childhood Counselling Diploma Course at Manthan consists of two modules:

Module I) Play therapy for age group 2.6 to 8 years of age.

Module II) Art therapy for age group 8 to 13 years of age

Module I) – About Play Therapy-

What is Play therapy?

Play therapy can help children to communicate, explore repressed thoughts and emotions, through play. These address unresolved trauma, and experience personal growth. It is widely viewed as an important, effective and developmentally appropriate mental health treatment, particularly for small children.

Module II) – About Art Therapy

What is Art therapy?

The use of artistic methods to treat psychological disorders and enhance mental health is known as art therapy. Art therapy is a technique rooted in the idea that creative expression can foster healing and mental well-being. Art, is used to help people explore emotions, develop self-awareness, cope with stress, boost self-esteem, and work on social skills. Techniques used in art, therapy can include drawing, painting, colouring, sculpting, or collage. As clients create art, they may look for themes they have made and how it makes them feel. Through exploring their art, people can look for themes and conflicts that may affecting their thoughts, emotions, behaviours.

Duration of the course:

4 months + 2 months practical training
