The Mandan High FCCLA chapter hosted an FCCLA showcase to show off the hard work of our chapter members and to promote FCCLA. This event was hosted in Mrs. Jacobson's room- the Culinary Arts room. Students could walk around the room and would be greeted by our STAR competitors who displayed their project. The kitchen was busy for the entire duration of the showcase giving out free treats and showing off FCCLA career readiness skills. It was one of our most successful recruitment activities to date.
Our FCCLA chapter was a major participant in Mandan High's club fair, which was held early in the 2025-26 school year. While at the event, members handed out flyers and stickers, promoted FCCLA by speaking to people, and showcased a few competitive events. A majority of students and faculty at Mandan High attended the career fair, so our chapter made many new impressions. Approximately 10 new members reported that they joined FCCLA after learning about us at the club fair.
Several members from our FCCLA chapter attended a Trunk or Treat event (held inside due to extreme weather). This event was attended by a majority of Mandan High's Career and Technical Sciences Organizations, or CTSOs. Members handed out candy and had a blast with the attendees and the members from the other CTSOs.
This event was highly advertised and many people, both in and outside of high school took notice of how great our chapter is. Mandan High FCCLA earned several new members from participating in this event and made contact with potential business/community partners for 2026.
When asked, "How was the FCCLA showcase?" Vice President Shelby Bendish (in the alien costume) stated,
"I believe the trunk or treat went very well; we barely had any candy by the end, and it was nice to see kids of all ages participating in the community event!
I also loved the diversity in kids there, and, in turn, we provided snacks for each of them. For example, we had allergy safe snacks, as well as gluten and sugar free options as well, ensuring everybody got goodies!
I’d say it was a great opportunity for anyone there to interact with kids and give back to the community!"
Here at Mandan High School, we appreciate all of our members both new and old. We retain our members and hold their interest by hosting All-Member Parties! We host one party each school month. Examples of past parties include: bowling, game nights, and BYOC (bring your own craft). We also retain members through regular posts and communication via SportsYou and through our bulletin board "Member Spotlight" featuring a Mandan High FCCLA member each week to recognize their excellence. We are also major participants and supporters of Mandan High School's CTE Signing Day by encouraging FCCLA members to remain in FCS careers beyond their FCCLA journey. This demonstrates our commitment to retaining both current FCCLA members and future alumni.
Visit the Cost, Deadlines, and Instructions page to see how you can attend the next meeting/event, and visit the Mandan FCCLA Calendar to plan accordingly.
FCCLA is held annually during the second week of February. This special week celebrates our members, advisers, and supporters.
During this week, Mandan High FCCLA members get together to promote and celebrate FCCLA.
During the 2026 FCCLA week, we plan to celebrate our members and advisers with many activities that vary day-by-day including scavenger hunts and community activities like Valentine's for Children's Hospitals.
FCCLA Week is an amazing opportunity to reignite a passion for FCCLA in our inactive members and ensure our current membership promotes FCCLA's missions and values.
