Confirmed: Benfica has a decision for Goncalo Ramos

Reporter Fabrizio Romano spoke about the future of the Portuguese striker in January.

Manchester United will certainly enter the winter transfer window with the primary target of a quality central striker, in the context of Cristiano Ronaldo's official departure from Old Trafford. Recently, the media confirmed that the Red Devils are targeting Goncalo Ramos as the number one option to replace CR7.

Besides his impressive hat-trick at the last World Cup , Ramos is also shining strongly at club level with 15 goals and 6 assists in 22 appearances this season. Obviously, Benfica will have no reason to part with their main striker in the middle of the season, and as revealed by Fabrizio Romano, they have absolutely no intention of selling Ramos in the Eastern market.

Talking to GIVEMESPORT, the Italian journalist said:

" Goncalo Ramos is a player that Man Utd know very well. Before the World Cup they sent scouts to watch Ramos, they knew he had impressive skill and potential. But, Benfica had no intention of doing so. sell Ramos in January, so it won't be easy for Man Utd."

Earlier, Rui Costa, Benfica's president, also said that they would only accept to part with Ramos in January if the star's release clause was activated.
