Eblouissement

Blinding sunlight inspired my new « Dazzle » series. White dominates my abstract compositions, accompanied by pastel colors. The colors appear as visual imprints of strong summer lights. I let the shapes come to the canvas with confidence. I know they are part of the landscape, my environment, my perception of a moment in time. I’ve also introduced the paper towel I use to clean my brushes. These multicolored stains resemble the reflections of light. I also found it iteresting to introduce this paper for plastic reasons and also to give it a different role from that for which it was intended. It adds layers to the canvas so as to reveal the paint underneath. I found this play with material fascinating, and gave me plenty of scope to express my creativity. The influence of landscape is very present in my work, as it reflects my attachement to my origins in the Mazury region of Poland. It’s a dialogue between my past and my present life. I currently live in a small village in Italy, surrounded by nature. Working in this environment is vital for me. I draw inspiration from it every day and incorporate the imagination of unkown places.
