Now that you have done the work to gather insights from everyone who accesses and uses your space it is now time to create a team to make the magic happen.
Creating a focus group and maker team will allow you to go in depth on some of these topics to make the necessary change.
- Include all grade levels if possible
- Include teachers who are interested in makerspaces
- Include admin to keep them involved in the process
- Include community members that might do this type of work or can help with materials
Possible Topics of Discussion
- Sort the data have the team look at what the data is telling us
- What is working?
- What is missing? Where are the gaps between what is not mentioned or perhaps what people want vs. what we can't provide in the space.
- What is the first thing you notice when you enter the library(is this what you want people to know the library as)?
- When you think of the word library, what words come to mind?
- What are activities you would like to see in the library?
- Where are you favorite places in the library?
