The Proposals - 'Green', Innovative Transport Options
As part of the public consultation, on Saturday 30th March we showcased some of the different methods of transport on land and water that are being explored as part of the final proposals, including a land train (on loan from Looe) an electric Tuk Tuk, e-bikes from Beryl Bikes, and a frequent minibus service by Red Bus , alongside water transport from Plymouth Boat Trips and Silverline Cruises.
The Town Council invested in this ‘transport trial’ in order to explore what might be possible to improve connectivity within the town and across the river.
Transport trial
The transport trial on 30th March offered free rides on a land train and minibus from the town centre down to Saltash Waterside and back, free ferry rides across to Royal William Yard and Saltash Passage and an opportunity to ride a tuk tuk or an electric bike.

Public consultation
We were keen to find out:
How do you think Saltash Waterside could be better connected to the town centre?
Which of the transport ideas we’re trialling would encourage you to visit Saltash Waterside more often?
Would a regular ferry be useful?
What would entice you to use a transport service to visit Saltash Waterside and how much would you be prepared to pay?
Do you have any particular suggestions regarding improvements to the public space at Saltash Waterside?
What other ideas do you have for attracting and keeping visitors at Saltash Waterside?
