Project Scope
Studio Hive is exploring and assessing options for improved connectivity within Saltash with a view to providing a number of recommendations for the Town Council to consider.
Our methodology is based on a logical sequence of considering the brief, analysing and providing regular feedback to the Connectivity Working Group as the project progresses.
Analysis
The following options have been assessed in terms of: viability / value for money, desirability and demand.
Green Innovative and traditional transport options:
Exploration of transport types and potential operators / operating models
Liaison with potential operators and Cornwall Council / Highways
Water Transport (water taxis, ferries, river cruises etc):
Analysis of transport types and existing Saltash Waterside infrastructure to support landing points
Potential operators / operating models

Liaison with Cornwall Council’s Maritime Manager
Circular routes linking footpaths, cycle routes rail & bus routes:
Exploration of potential routes and links for green transport modes
Study of existing routes and operators
Public transport / cycle route overlay
Liaison with Sustrans
Connections with existing infrastructure and services
Assessment of various operating models
Public Realm:
Analysis of key locations, approaches, vistas, resting points etc
Historic analysis and possibility of Heritage Trail
Green transport overlay – parking / charging places, cycle storage etc
Study of existing signage for improvement strategy

They range from the re-introduction of ferry services across the Tamar to innovative modes of transport and the upgrading and integration of public foot and cycle paths within Saltash.
