A project interacting with a client who is in need of an assistive technology device that will provide a solution for their activity of daily living. Interaction from the client will allow the student to design an effective device by listening to the feedback given from the client. Use of an empathy map will help guide the student in the right direction when designing. Asking the appropriate questions while trying to connect with the client through their stories allows the student to create a good relationship with the person they are designing for, making the process more personable.
Identifying the task at hand while keeping in mind the pain points and feelings of the client will help make the assistive device personable.
