A project that tested the ability of the student to rapidly design an upper arm prosthesis for a young girl who's end goal was to pick up a water bottle with little knowledge on the area of prosthetics and biomechanics. Given a limited supply of materials and a short summary of the end user needs, the student had to make an effective device that fit Sally's needs.
This insight statement was produced to get a better understanding of what the client needed from their prosthesis that the student was designing.
My design was modeled to be like a cupholder. The water bottle rests on the cardboard and is secured by the rubber bands.
