1.What I have learned in the class?
Miro is an online collaborative whiteboard platform that allows users to work together in real-time, regardless of their location.
As mathematics teachers, we can use miro to improve student participation in class.
For example,
Collaborative learning:Miro can be used to facilitate group projects, allowing students to work together on a shared canvas
Mind mapping: Miro can be used to create mind maps, allowing students to visualize relationships between ideas and concepts.
Besides, teacher can write down their comments near the students‘ task which are convenient and useful to students to correct their answer.
All in all, teachers can use Miro to facilitate brainstorming sessions with students, allowing them to share and organize their ideas in real-time.
It provides a platform for creating and sharing interactive mathematical models, simulations, and visualizations.
Teachers can create and manipulate mathematical objects such as points, lines, and functions, and see how changes to these objects affect other parts of the model.Besides, compares with the tool we used in general which named geometer sketchpad, geogebra is much more intuitive and clear for students . Also,it is more convenient to use and has more functions for teachers.
Besides, geogebra also offers resources for teachers which can help us to reference and learn. If you want to know about the activities related to trigonometry, you only need to enter in the resources, then you can get the code of the relevant course activities. After that teacher can modify the code according to the actual teaching.
For students, they can ues this platform to freely adjust and set their own functions, observe the changes of the functions, and get timely feedback, which is helpful to improve their learning interest and mathematical thinking ability.
Desmos is a online graphing calculator that allows users to graph functions, plot data, and explore mathematical concepts in a visual and interactive way.
Desmos can be used to graph a wide range of mathematical functions, including trigonometric functions, logarithmic functions, and exponential functions. Besides, it also provides geometer sketchpad so that teachers can make geometric figures earsily.
In order to improve the students' participation, desmos also provides interactive features so that students can join into the class totally.
ChatGPT
In addition to the tools described above, ChatGPT also provides a new way to teach.ChatGPT can be a valuable tool for teachers in teaching mathematics by providing personalized support and feedback to students, allowing them to develop their math skills and understanding in a more engaging and interactive way.
For example, ChatGPT not only can helps teacher to plan the teaching-plan, but also offer practice problems to students. Also,ChatGPT can adapt to the individual needs of each student, providing personalized learning experiences that are tailored to their learning style and level of understanding.
In 5511, we also learn lots of teaching pedagogy such as collaborative learning, didactic instruction and discovery learning.
As mathematics teachers, we should focus more on making students thinking out the process of formula proof rather than the result of proof. In this case, using correct teaching pedagogy is also important for teachers.
In future teaching, I will actively use these tools to enrich my lessons and help students better engage in the classroom.
2. What I wish to learn:
I'm intresting in data analysis and visualization, because digital tools can be used to analyze and visualize data, allowing students to explore mathematical concepts and relationships in a more engaging and interactive way. Also, as teachers, it is important to analysis the grade of students.
Thank you for your teaching🫶
