By learning the course 5511, I have got a lot of technological methods which can apply to teach mathematics. It explores the integration of technology into mathematics education and emphasizes the effective use of digital tools to enhance students' understanding, engagement, and problem-solving abilities in mathematics.
Before the Midterm, I learned to use GeoGebra , Desmos, chatGPT and prepared a presentation by using them, it is really useful for us to design some mathematics activities. After the midterm break, we learned how to use R and Shiny app to make some math problems more intuitively. Compared with the GeoGebra and Desmos, Shiny app is a little bit difficult and challenging for me. We also need to design a Shiny app related to statistics, and it really took a lot of time. Before the presentation, I discussed with my group members several times, the most challenging part is the code, there were always many errors appeared, and we need to correct it, I also think it is interesting, because when we got the right code, it gave us a sense of achievement. Besides, we also learned a lot form others groups' presentation, which are useful for us to design our site better.
5511 provides me with insights into effectively integrating technology into mathematics teaching. I am so happy to take this course!!
