During my first year at the Bush School I was an Advisor to the Executive Team for Texas A&M Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As an undergrad I spent three years on the Executive Team as the Director of Communications for the organization. In my Advisor role I was in charge of training and overseeing. I attended weekly Executive meetings and FCA group meetings. I also attended weekend retreats and helped plan events. This position stretched me in learning to lead a group of people but be hands off as far as ideas and changes they that made. I was asked advice but I ultimately had to help execute their ideas - whether I fully agreed with it or not. I had to learn when it was appropriate to speak up. It helped me grow as a leader, especially in an oversight capacity.

In the Fall of 2017 I volunteered with Fields of Faith for the Brazos Valley. I helped coordinate all other volunteers and helped with behind the scenes of the event such as helped with the food and setting up the band. I stayed to help clean up and serve the rest of the volunteer team. I helped make sure all other volunteers were equipped and positioned in their correct roles. I was there to serve the staff and serve the volunteers that helped children at the event. I consider this a valuable contribution and was honored to serve in this role. It was relevant to my personal and professional leadership development because I had to manage people at a large event for kids. I used methods I was taught in my Public Management classes and gave me me real world experience.
