By this point in class I'm realizing there's a lot more I don't know or understand when it comes to computers. For instance, when I learned about the 6x6 presentation guideline, I realized I've been doing my slides wrong all my life. I was always taught to keep things short and sweet on a slide show, but never HOW to do that. Found out years later it's super simple. Just gotta remember the 6's; 6 bullet points and no more than six words per bullet point.
Powerpoint slides aren't the only thing I realized I was way over my head with. Simpaths are a neat way to learn how to used an application to it's full protentional, through trail and error, hints and lessons. Being able to try on your own at least five times per question helps me learn the way I was always taught. By clicking buttons that I think would work and realizing there's easier ways to do it. During the Excel portions, I went in uncertain, I've seen my mom fill out excel spreadsheets for bills, but all the squares and buttons confused me beyond belief. Excel Simpath made it possible for me to narrow down what I need and letting the application do the math work and averages for me, will save me a lot of time in the future.
