My research philosophy is one of commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and community engagement, with the goal of fostering equitable health outcomes and contributing to the advancement of public health knowledge and practice. This philosophy is grounded in the vision to continue advancing a research agenda that is both globally informed and locally grounded, contributing to the global discourse on public health while addressing the unique challenges faced by our communities. My academic journey, culminating in a joint PhD in Social Science (KU Leuven) and Public Health (Stellenbosch University), has been driven by a fervent belief in the transformative power of research to address complex health challenges and foster sustainable change within communities.
