Unit Introduction

I created a reusable Digital Media Checklist to verify quality, accessibility, licensing, and alignment for my minicourse. It captures evaluator, date, URL, license, accessibility, accuracy, technical quality, and my added checks for standards alignment and device tests. Applied to the PBLWorks Essential Project Design Elements Checklist, it aligned most with Module 2 Objective 2, Module 3 Objective 2, and Module 5 Objective 4, and now serves as a clear selection and audit tool. 

Reflection

While building the checklist, I studied the course resources and exemplars and prioritized criteria that matter most for my minicourse: accessibility, license clarity, and explicit alignment to outcomes. Applying the tool to the PBLWorks Essential Project Design Elements Checklist confirmed strong alignment to Module 2 Objective 2, Module 3 Objective 2, and Module 5 Objective 4. The process also surfaced two realities I must plan for. First, accessibility: static PDFs are readable, but I need complementary formats when possible (EPUB/student view) and, if needed, my own alt text, summaries, or transcripts to support diverse learners. Second, licensing: the OER Commons version is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, which fits a noncommercial course. If I ever monetize, I will replace NC materials with CC BY or obtain permission, and I will continue tracking license terms inside the checklist.

Key habits I am keeping: verify author and date, record a persistent link, test on multiple devices, and tie every resource to a concrete objective and evidence of mastery. The checklist is now a living compliance record.
