Group Round Robin (GRR)
Directed by George Hildebrandt
Group Round Robin play provides an opportunity for all LWTC full members to play organized, social tennis with a group of players at their level and gender on a weekly basis. Play is scheduled from November through April. All players are required to have a club rating to be placed at the appropriate level of play to help insure like playing abilities. Players sign up weekly on the Court Reserve registration site. Each playing level will have a coordinator who will organize play. There is no fee for Round Robin play. Players occasionally move up or down a level as life circumstances change that may impact their playing capabilities.
OVERVIEW
Leisure World Group Round Robin (“GRR”) play is for club members. It is structured with playing levels so similar skills and intensity of play can be maximized. GRR play is designed to be challenging yet enjoyable.
Guidelines have been established to help individuals to determine their playing level. GRR is currently set up by level and gender. Should the number of members in any given level not have enough players, then levels will be combined.
General Guidelines
GRR is structured by playing levels so similar skills and intensity of play can be maximized.
Current levels: 4.0, 3.5, 3.0, 2.5, 2.0, 1.5.
Club membership and a club rating are both required in order to register for a GRR event.
GRR events occurs on a weekly basis by gender and level. They begin the first week in November and end the first week in March.
Each GRR level has a coordinator who organizes and manages play with various partners each week.
The LW Court Reserve web site is the location of one's personal information and “club rating.” The site then uses one's club rating value in the personal profile to validate registration to a GRR event.
If one's club rating changes, contact our web master (Susan Silberisen, 480-239-2324 or ssilberisen@yahoo.com) to have the club rating in one's personal profile in the Court Reserve system. The web master is the only person who can officially change your rating number in Court Reserve.
