In a studio session today we looked at different stereo microphone techniques including XYL/R, ORTFR/L and SPACED L/R.
In todays studio session we talked and looked about the different microphone techniques when recording guitar parts. This is one of the ways, having the microphone directly in front of the amplifier creating a really bright tone when listening to the recording. Another technique is having the microphone placed half way between the center speaker and the outer casing, this creates a thicker darker tone when played back.
This worksheet contains questions and answers about a mixing desk and audio moniters.
This is the track that my band recorded, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. We had to mix it on logic pro and overall this track out of the two is better but it still has areas that we can work on and improve together.
This recording was I'm yours by Jason Mraz and honestly this recording sucked but it just shows we have lots of areas to work when performing/recording together.
