I sat down and practised playing the song, i've never played this song before but i have always wanted too, i used a website called Songsterr which has lots of different tabs for lots of song. i practised the rythym by listening to the song and strumming muted strings to help get an idea of how the rythym goes, I do this for all new songs i learn. The part I have recorded is the intro/first verse of the song.
With the next video it is nearly identical to the first apart from the pre chorus includes two different chord shapes to what is being played, the first chord I found really frustrating and tedious because its an awkward shape and uses fingers i don't use often use, to get around this i just practised that chord shape instead of transitioning between shapes, this really helped me get used to how it felt which made it easier to play, i eventually after many tries got a take of transitioning correctly and back into the verse.
