LUMS Math Circles

The International Day of Mathematics (IDM) is a worldwide celebration in the joy of math. Every year on the 14th of March, various mathematical activities are set up for both students and the general public in schools, museums, libraries and other spaces.

Organizations and schools around the world are invited to host their own events in celebration of IDM. This year, LUMS will also be hosting an activity for IDM.

This celebration will be held on the 14th of March at LUMS. The event will be filled with many interactive and fun filled activities. The itinerary is as follows:

Buffoon Needle Experiment
Public Talk - History of Pi.
Fun filled games
Cake cutting ceremony and Eating Pie event.
Documentary on Albert Einstein on his 144th Birthday.

FUN FACT!

March 14 is already celebrated in many countries as Pi Day because the date is written as 3/14 in some countries and the mathematical constant Pi is approximately 3.14.

March 14 is also Albert Einstein's birthday. A large part of modern day mathematical advances would not be possible without Einstein's contributions in Math and Physics.
