The Proactive Intervention Team (PIT) is a smaller team focused on targeting individuals. They handle road-related intelligence submissions from all police workstreams, developing them with the aim of executing warrants, imprisonment, licence bans, and seizing or scrapping vehicles to disrupt road crime. The team frequently operates in plain clothes and unmarked vehicles to enhance surveillance capability and maximise the effectiveness of intelligence-led interventions.
Traffic officers must have:
Passed their probation period
Hold a valid CED taser ticket
Have proved themselves operationally as a Safer Roads constable
If you are interested in the Proactive Intervention Team, reach out to the PIT Lead, PS Dante Johnson.
