Post-Resurrection : The Ascension
Today we continue learning about what happened between when Jesus rose and Jesus' Ascension. We will discuss what Jesus tasked his Disciples with and what that means for Christians today. Next week we will discuss the actual ascension, but this week I really wanted to focus on what is called The Great Commission or in easier language, the Big Job that Jesus laid out for Christians shortly before he ascended into heaven.
Read: Mark 16:19-20, Luke 24:50-53, and Acts 1:1-11.
Things to think about :
What instructions did Jesus give to His disciples?
What did Jesus promise His disciples?
How would the disciples have the power to obey His instructions?
Where did Jesus go after He finished giving instructions to the disciples?
Who told the disciples that Jesus would return the same way He left the earth?
How can you share the Good News with someone this week?
