Today we continue learning about what happened between when Jesus rose and Jesus' Ascension. We will today discuss and learn about what happened when Jesus appeared to several of his disciples as they were fishing and what happened afterward. In this story there is an interesting piece where, reminiscent of times before with fishing, Jesus appears to his disciples to aid them in finding fish, afterwards, Jesus feeds them and addresses Peter, commanding him to tend his flock. What do you think that could mean?

Read John 21:1-25 (Jesus and the Miraculous Catch of the Fish & Jesus Reinstates Peter) and try to answer the following questions

• Who were the disciples that decided to go fishing?

• When Jesus first appeared to the disciples, did they recognize him?

• Why do you think they did not recognize him?

• Who is it that you think recognized Jesus before Peter?

• What did Peter do ?

• How many times did Jesus ask Peter if he loved him?

• What was Jesus' command each time that Peter responded?

• What do you think Jesus' command means?
