The Louisville Writing Project provides high-quality professional development for teachers in the greater Louisville area. We empower PreK-Collegiate educators to implement best practices in literacy education. Our Invitational Summer Institute participants join us from many backgrounds: teachers who love writing, teachers who don't, teachers who spend all day in an ELA classroom, teachers who teach writing in cross-disciplinary courses, veteran teachers, and pre-service teachers. We offer something for everyone.
Our most common feedback from participants is, "I wish EVERYONE could experience this professional development." We love hosting teachers new to our community and welcoming them back to our learning environment.
We believe that all students can be effective communicators.
We believe that all teachers should be confident and knowledgeable writing instructors.
We believe that our students can use their voices to make the world a better place.
