Exhibit 4
Dare to dream
Revision
For this particular image I followed the feedback I received exactly to the dot. I changed the size of the overall image and moved the layers around to create the look of a darker background with lighter words and lighter jelly fish. I added another layer to create the dark blue background color with a soft opacity to be able to see the actual picture.
I kept all the same design elements from the previous picture, with a few non-destructive changes.
Background:
This specific exhibit was inspired by many of images I’ve seen online of interlaced nature with human, and because of a recent movie I just watched. There was a scene in the movie that had these giant jellyfish floating in the sky, it was the perfect scene of calmness. I wanted to recreate that scene with a few different layers.
Design:
Contrast – I used a very similar dark color palette for the entire image. I wanted to recreate a frame around the image using the jellyfish.
Repetition – The repetition of the jellyfish all around the frame as well as the small specks of color throughout the image, create a nice repetition of color.
Alignment – The jellyfish are aligned to create a border around the image as well as a border around the mushroom located in the middle. The words are aligned in a warp text around the mushroom to create an arch.
Proximity – I tried to keep everything in close proximity to each other specially the jellyfish. I wanted to create a clearing in the middle of the image, so I don’t have much if anything covering the girl on the mushroom.
