General Goal: To contribute to stormwater pollution prevention and watershed protection by strengthening stormwater education and supporting evidence-based recommendations that reduce nutrient pollution from dog waste as a nonpoint source.
Specific Objectives.
Assess community knowledge, attitudes, practices, barriers, and social influences related to dog waste pickup and disposal.
Evaluate existing education and outreach tools, including signage, PSAs, messages, bag stations, and site infrastructure.
Develop evidence-based recommendations to strengthen targeted stormwater education and increase proper disposal of pet waste.
