Enforcement • Integrity • Accountability
OPS enforces all policies set forth, they claim & manage reports filed on officers, they have full authority, however they require approval.
Agents within the division conduct frequent reviews on policies set, ensuring they are up to date & are properly being enforced, this includes random officer audits.
The office of professional standards contains minimal agents, who conduct day-to-day duties, including officer reports, officer audits, department changes & much more. Agents within the division are kept classified, their identity is not known.
The division is bound to the highest standard, for the departments good, we list some of the standards they are held to, below, this ensures no bias or misuse of authority.
Agents within the division are required to keep their identity secure, this includes when handling mod-mails & reports, IE: we cannot contact reporters for evidence if the evidence is not within the report.
Agents are not permitted to discuss cases within a voice-chat, it must remain within the open report dashboard, this way, all actions are logged & recorded.
All agents are required to report & handle misconduct when on duty, this being opening a report & issuing a punishment accordingly, only if their identity won't be leaked, this ensures that all misconduct claims are handled.
We will not provide proof within a punishment if it leaks the reporter or the agent handling the report, this includes removing sound etc.
Those handling reports are bound to requirements when reviewing evidence provided, if the proof does not specify the officer committing a violation or proving it was within our department, we will immediately deny the report.
Appeals cannot be created 2 weeks after a punishment was originated, however, any punishment can be approved within the 2 weeks, they are not final.
Once a report is filed & claimed, it is agents discretion on how we proceed, discipline types (except verbal warnings) are made public, reasons are not.
We will not issue a second punishment if an original punishment has occurred, EG: if an officer committed a violation, they will be punished within a week of the report, they cannot be punished further for the same incident unless it happens again.
All punishments on supervisors have to be countersigned by department management.
Unlike other divisions within the department, there is not a set application to join, it is mainly handpicked or through a voice interview, however, you may express your interest in the division through the form below. You will need a written reccommendation to apply, you will not be contacted unless you pass, there is no time-frame. OPS Interest Form.
OPS was formerly referred to as IAD (Internal Affairs Division). However, leadership within the division lacked & there was alot of complaints regarding the system, instead, we completed an overhaul, enforcing a more modern approach to suit the department, previously, you would know the agents who enforced discipline within the department, causing in backlash, this was changed.
With these changes, the division has become alot more automated, we file your reports and assist with better response times, there is more policies & regulations agents are bound to, they are supported by department management.
We always encourage reporting officer misconduct, this includes but is not limited to: purposeful or accidental handbook violations, insubordination & misrepresentation, all reports are taken seriously & are rewarded over time. We can only accept & properly investigate reports if proof is attatched.
