This page tells you who about the attendance of your local Councillors at meetings and also when they have declared interests in a particular topic that is being discussed and decided upon. For transparency and to ensure Council decisions are made fairly and without prejudice as far as possible, any Councillor may declare an interest in a topic and abstain for joining in any discussion or decision making. They may also choose to leave the room entirely for that topic, so that there is no risk of them influencing the discussion or decision-making.
