You will find 35 stories about tigers collected here, as found in books of folktales and legends from India and Asia. I've divided the stories into collections that will each take less than an hour to read.
USING DIIGO
If you are interested in exploring interconnected motifs, you can also browse the Tiger Stories at Diigo. You can use the tags to look for stories of the Tiger Tricked, for example, or stories that have a Tiger and a Cat, or tiger stories that have some kind of Aetiology (including how the tiger got its stripes).
All the motif tags are prefixed with sb: and you can use the basic Boolean operators to do the search. Don't forget to add the hashtag before the tag so that Diigo knows you are searching on tags. Here, for example is a search for tiger stories from Tibet: #sb:tiger AND #sb:tibet. Here is a search for tiger stories that are not from India: #sb:tiger NOT #sb:india.
