Jesus taught us much in His Parables...A parable is a short story that relates easily to life and is simple to understand, and it is a universal truth...A parable usually contains a character who faces a moral dilemma or one or ones who do not do the moral thing or what is morally right...The meaning of the parable may not give us a specific answer we understand, but it allows us to think on the subject or topic, so that we come to our own moral conclusion of what the teacher was telling us in his story...The parable usually tells us how we can be morally better and guides us to a universal truth...And in this short story we learn deep profound Truths that are Spiritual...
Some parables are like allegories...An allegory is a story, picture, or other piece of art that uses symbols to convey a hidden or ulterior meaning, typically a moral one...In its most simple and concise definition, an allegory is when a piece of visual or narrative media uses one thing to “stand in for...Some say that Jonah inside the great fish is a allegory...Some early followers of Jesus thought His Parables were allegories which were symbolic...Some disagreed with this...Surprisingly the Gospel of John has no parables, but contains allegories, such as Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and Jesus is the Light of this World...
Jesus taught and teaches is in Parable...His Parables often led to one or more questions, because of their Great Depth of Moral Truth...Some believe that some of His Parables were reserved for only for the Twelve...In Mark, Jesus tells us that when He was alone, the Twelve and the others around Him asked Him about the parables...He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you...But to those on the outside everything is said in Parables so that, “‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’”...So Jesus probably explained any of His Parables to His Disciples if He saw they had problems understanding them...
Jesus Parables were Divine Teachings...His Parables make us each think personally about the Kingdom of God in our day-to-day living, just like the original audience...His Parables require us to decide if we to understand the Light or to not turn into His Teachings and not learn about His Parables and Ways...Those waiting for the Messiah had their notions that He would add to the Old Testament teachings and its history, but our Messiah is Unique...Jesus Parables have a Spiritual Message...Jesus' Parables made God's Teachings accessible to all people, not only the Jewish community...His style is associated with His Father so His followers would remember them and they would learn more about the wisdom of His Father...The Parables were spontaneous and they give us Universal Truth, as He is our Universal and Absolute Truth...And from Jesus' Parables we learn transcendent, everlasting truths in His Simple Parables...
